
How to Download a Video from Facebook

Learning how to download videos from Facebook is helpful for a number of reasons, but the main one is so that you can watch them wherever you are. Here's how to download a video from Facebook on a computer and mobile device.
How to download videos from Facebook on Desktop
1. Open a new tab in your desktop browser and go to https://www.facebook.com/.
2. Find the video you want to download.
3. Click on the video you want to watch. Click the three dots button on the right side of the video when the clip starts to play.
4. Select Copy link from the drop-down menu.
5. Open a new browser tab and paste the URL into the address bar of that tab. This can be done by pressing Ctrl+V on a Windows computer or Command+V on a Mac. You can also right-click and choose "Paste."
6. Change "www" to "mbasic" in the URL in the address bar.
To do this, you can use your mouse to select the text and then press the Delete key on your keyboard. Then type or copy and paste mbasic where www was. So, the first part of your new URL should be https://mbasic.facebook.com/...
7. Press the Enter key on your keyboard. This will make a new page appear.
8. Right-click on the video and choose "Open link in new tab."
9. The Facebook video will be the only thing shown in the new tab. To save the video to your computer, right-click it and choose "Save video as."
10. Give your video a name and decide where it will go, then click Save. The file can then be opened in any media player that can handle MP4 files.
Note: When you click on the three-dot icon at the top right of the video, you will see the Save video option. But this doesn't really save the video on your device; it just saves it in the app so you can watch it later.
How to Download a Video from Facebook on Android
Keep in mind that this method only works for Facebook videos that have been shared with the public.
1. Open the Facebook app on your phone and sign in.
2. Find the video you want to download and click "Share" below it.
3. Swipe left or right until you find the "Copy Link" button. Tap it.
4. Open your device's browser app and paste the link into the address bar. To do this, touch the address bar and choose Paste.
5. Change the www in the URL to mbasic. So, the website address should begin with https://mbasic.facebook.com/...
6. Use the on-screen keypad to type "Go."
7. Tap the video next. At this point, you might have to sign in to your Facebook account again.
8. On the next page, tap and hold on to the video. There will be a pop-up menu.
9. Tap Download video next. Chrome may need access to your photos, media, and files. Tap OK to keep going.
10. Tap Open to watch the video once the download is done. At the bottom of your screen, you will see this.
11. You can find the video you downloaded by going to your home screen and tapping on the Files app, then tapping on Downloads. The video you just got should be at the top of the list.
How to Download Videos From Facebook on iPhone
1. Open the Facebook app.
2. Find the video you want to save and tap the Share button. This is right below the video.
3. Swipe left or right until you find the "Copy Link" button. Tap it.
4. Open your mobile browser and go to www.fbdown.net. If you're using an iPhone, remember to use Firefox.
5. Copy the video's URL and paste it into the box in the middle of the page, then click "Download."
6. On the next page, click the link for "Normal Quality" or "High Quality" downloads. This will change how big the file is and how much space it takes up on your phone.
7. This will take you to a new page that just has the Facebook video. Long-press the clip, and when the option to "Download video" appears, tap it.
8. The video will now be saved to your mobile device, where you can watch it even when you don't have an internet connection.
