RES: Reddit Enhancement Suite

Reddit Enhancement Suite (RES) is a free suite of modules to enhance your browsing experience. It is a powerful upgrade that can make even a newbie into a power user. Since its release in 2010, RES has collected a huge number of followers, it has almost 2.5 million users on Google Chrome alone, according to the Chrome web store. The suite has 2 basic features: an in-site image viewer and Never-ending Reddit to replace the site’s old-fashioned pagination. These 2 features alone are enough to fundamentally transform your Reddit experience. There are even more to do with it.

Features

To access RES settings console, hover your mouse over the gear icon in the upper-right navigation bar and click RES settings console.

In-site image viewer

Reddit's front page is filled with images. Normally, for non-RES users, it is required to go to external sites in order to view those images. However, with RES, users can view images right on Reddit's homepage. RES adds a camera icon at the bottom of any image link. By clicking on it, the image will be visible right on the page. The image’s size c could also be adjusted by clicking and dragging the cursor around. In addition, the image viewer can also play videos and GIFs. You may have to enable RES to access some external sites to d reach those images on Reddit.

If you’re lazy, you can just hit the show images tab.

Never-ending Reddit

Reddit is normally paginated. If you want to go for an adventure scrolling down through the front page, you have to click on many pages. With RES's Never-ending Reddit feature, as its name suggests, Reddit will become a bottomless pit of content. The next one will automatically load when you reach the bottom of a page. This feature is turned on by default, but you can turn it off through RES settings console.

Link and comments karma

Originally, Reddit only displays your link karma on the top navigation bar. You can only see your comment karma on your user page. RES does the sensible thing and put your comment karma right next to your link score.

Subreddit manager

Reddit's top navigation bar is a mess and anti-customized, leading to a difficulty in managing subreddits. RES fixes that by providing users a subreddit manager. You can edit, rename, organize your subreddits on the navigation bar. You can also see all of your subscribed subreddits (Reddit without RES doesn't show all of them) in one drop-down menu and your last time active. 

Account switcher

RES allows you to add any number of accounts as you like for fast account switching. Once you've added more accounts, it takes only 2 clicks to switch among them with RES account switcher. Just click on Snoo (the alien) next to your username and select an account on the drop-down list.

New comments count

RES will show the number of new comments on the thread since the last time you visited it.

User tagger

There are diverse people on the Internet, and maybe for some reasons, you want to label specific persons with different names or characters. RES enable you to tag a Redditor with any words or phrases you want. The tags are stored locally on your computer, only visible to you unless you take a photo and share it. You can tag a user by clicking the tag icon next to every username.

Subscribe to comment threads

Sometimes you may find out some conversations in your Reddit adventures very interesting, but it's easy to forget about them once you move on. Don't worry, RES's subscription feature will notify you every time a new comment is added to a discussion.

Night mode

A theme that turns Reddit sleek, black, and easier on the eye. The night mode quick toggle can be found in the drop-down menu when you hover your mouse over the gear icon.

Note: Some subreddits have their default formatting style and it could be impossible for any adjustment.
